We went to the Ligoner Ice Fest today and here are a few of my favorite images. We went last year too, and it's just amazing to see these guys work with blocks of ice and bulky tools and make these beautiful works of art. The ice carvers were from DiMartion Ice in Jeannette PA. The only downfall to my day was I wasn't covering this for a paper, it was pure enjoyment and I didn't bother getting any information; which I think is important. The carvers in my photos are working on a downhill skier, alligator and what looked to be a giant teddy bear (I didn't stay to the end for this one).
